We at phil&teds®, we’re parents too, so we know that getting out of the house postpartum can feel like a mission. Fresh air helps, movement helps, and sometimes a simple walk with your buggy is exactly what the day needs.

One common challenge? Finding routes that are genuinely buggy-friendly, low-stress, and actually enjoyable. To make things easier, we’ve rounded up 6 easy buggy walks in London that are smooth under wheels, gentle on tired bodies, and perfect for soaking up a little city calm while keeping the blood flowing.

When you live in a city, it’s easy to overlook the green spaces right on your doorstep, so here are six tried-and-tested buggy walks to help you rediscover London at walking pace

City of London Cemetery
A surprisingly peaceful escape, the City of London Cemetery is a Grade I listed historical site and one of the largest municipal cemeteries in Europe. It was also the first cemetery to receive the Green Flag Award the gold standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales.

With over 120 species of trees, it’s essentially an arboretum, and there are around 11 kilometres of wide, flat pathways to choose from. The smooth paths and quiet roads make this an ideal option for parents using 3- or 4-wheel buggies.

Knighton Wood
Once the private garden of naturalist Edward Buxton (1863–1928), Knighton Wood is a lovely spot for parents who enjoy greenery with a little character.

This easy 1-kilometre loop has plenty of benches and peaceful spots to pause, reset, and listen to the birds. It’s flat, buggy-friendly, and works well whether you’re squeezing in a gentle power walk or enjoying a slow Sunday stroll. Keep an eye out for exotic plants including bamboo dotted throughout the wood.

Wanstead Park
Often considered part of Epping Forest, Wanstead Park really comes into its own in spring when bluebells blanket the woodland areas.

The main paths are flat and pram-friendly, making them suitable for all types of buggies. There’s also a great kiosk selling homemade snacks and drinks — because sometimes a coffee stop is the highlight of the walk.

St James's Park
St James’s Park is packed with buggy-friendly paths and definitely earns its place on this list of easy buggy walks in London. The tarmac paths are smooth, with gentle slopes and varied scenery, making it suitable for all types of buggies.

You’ll spot plenty of wildlife around the pond including the park’s famous pelicans. There are kiosks dotted around for food and drinks, plus the café Inn The Park, which makes a perfect excuse for a well-earned refreshment. Public toilets are available too, ideal for handling any surprise poonamis.

Kensington Gardens
Originally part of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens offers wide, open paths and plenty of space to roam. It’s home to two children’s playgrounds, including the much-loved Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground.

There’s a café near the playground, baby-changing facilities, and accessible toilets. The tarmac paths are smooth and suitable for both buggies and wheelchairs, making this an easy and practical option for parents.

The Regent's Park
Set across 400 acres, The Regent’s Park features rose gardens with over 30,000 plants, open lawns, and beautifully maintained paths.

In summer, you can hire boats at the southern end of the lake to get closer to the birdlife, and there’s a large children’s play area on the north-east edge of the park. The terrain is excellent for buggies, which is why we highly recommend it as one of London’s best easy buggy walks.
